QOL Rely on Dr. Schenk Test Systems
November 2006
Quantum Optical Laboratories (QOL) of Vernouillet, France, rely on the high performance of the Dr. Schenk inspection and measurement systems for their HD DVD introduction. Due to the outstanding positive experience with Dr. Schenk test systems applied already in their DVD production, it went without saying that QOL chose a PROmeteus MT-200.blue offline measurement system to complement the integrated ISM inline scanners for their HD DVD entry.
The move to the high-density 'blue' format at QOL has set the need for an appropriate offline measurement system. Being fully familiar with the PROmeteus system for the 'red' formats, such as CD and DVD, made the implementation of the new MT-200.blue system very easy and straightforward. Given the proven high quality of the Dr. Schenk systems, in combination with a professional and customer-oriented service support, a smooth ramp up of the newly started HD DVD production has been ensured at QOL.

Great Success for Dr. Schenk at glasstec 2006
November 2006
Dr. Schenk has made its debut at glasstec 2006 in Düsseldorf, Germany, with great success. The new flat glass inspection system GlassInspect from Dr. Schenk, having been introduced to the glass industry in spring 2006, attracted tremendous attention. Numerous Architectural and Automotive glass manufacturers, along with manufacturers of thin glass for display applications, took the opportunity to visit the Dr. Schenk booth during the five exhibition days.
The unique optical concept of GlassInspect attracted particular interest. Visitors at the Dr. Schenk booth have been impressed by the special illumination and camera design of GlassInspect that delivers microscopic-like images of the glass defects.
The modern inspection system solutions from Dr. Schenk are already successfully applied in numerous manufacturing lines of the flat glass industry.
Based on the outstanding positive feedback during the exhibition, Dr. Schenk is looking forward to coming back to the next glasstec in 2008.
Dr. Schenk Exhibited at Replication Expo 2006 in Shanghai
October 2006
Being one of the long term participants in the annual Replication Expo held in autumn in China, Dr. Schenk again presented its latest optical disc inspection and measurement products at this year´s exhibition in Shanghai.
The modern and inviting Dr. Schenk booth design, with the presence of local and international Dr. Schenk staff, as well as the exhibited offline measurement system PROmeteus MT-200 attracted much attention. Particularly engineers appreciated the availability of the PROmeteus MT-200 system at the Dr. Schenk booth, to learn about the latest and unique measurement features, with special focus on new optical media formats.
The over-all number of visitors at the Replication Expo 2006 was limited as expected, reflecting the general weak optical disc market situation of the past two years. Nevertheless, many of Dr. Schenk´s key customers in that region took the opportunity to visit the Dr. Schenk booth at the expo in order to hold discussions on our latest developments and applications for advanced optical disc formats.
