Schenk Vision LLC at CMM 2009 and NPE 2009
Easy-to-operate optical inspection systems
for web manufacturers and converters
- Schenk Vision LLC will present the EasyInspect automated inspection system at the two largest converting shows for the US market CMM and NPE
- Schenk welcomes manufacturers of film, foil, paper, plastic, coated, and laminated products as well as converted material to visit the Schenk booth
Schenk Vision LLC, the US subsidiary of the Germany based Dr. Schenk GmbH, invites manufacturers and converters to visit their booth during CMM International 2009 (June 2nd – 4th, Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL, at booth 807) and NPE 2009 - The International Plastics Showcase (June 22nd – 26th, McCormick Place in Chicago, IL. South Hall, at booth 1063).
The industry leader in the design and development of high performance test and measurement solutions Schenk will present EasyInspect, a 100% high speed and high performing web inspection system that detects defects and irregularities in film, optical film, paper, foil, nonwovens, and laminated and coated products. With EasyInspect, quality control becomes affordable for the broad converting industry.
Schenk has standardized and modularized their industry system components which allow the Schenk engineering teams to compile an EasyInspect package that suits individual inspection requirements and material types.
EasyInspect reliably detects surface defects such as gels, inclusions, or holes in the base material of manufactured products before the web material is further processed. During the converting steps like coating and laminating or in the application of silicon or adhesive layers, EasyInspect identifies coating voids, stains, bubbles, scratches, streaks, or wrinkles.
The modular optical set-up of the EasyInspect system consists of:
- Extremely high sensitive CCD line cameras or laser scanners with a wide range of resolutions
- High performance LED illumination units with customizable wavelengths and extremely high light intensity to enable inspection at high web speed
- Wide range of illumination concepts for special applications
An innovative imaging system provides defect information for evaluation in real-time and passes it on to the analyzing software, which also has a modular structure to guarantee a defect classification optimized to individual material types. The defect information is immediately visualized in a convenient, ergonomic form on a monitor. Thus, the line operator can react fast to process deviations. Warning thresholds can signal the operator to take correcting steps before costly material loss occurs.
