Dr. Schenk's GlassInspect for coated glass inspection detects defects and irregularities that occur in coating layers and on the glass substrate while being processed.

GlassMeasure continuously examines 100% of the glass surface to monitor overall physical properties such as coating thickness and homogeneity, color variation, haze or surface topology.

Multiplexing between different camera channels and illuminations enables a single  camera to inspect the glass for defects and distinguish between core and distortion size, detect tin drops (top and bottom), and reams and ream knot defects.

Typical Coated Glass Applications

Dr. Schenk’s solutions for coated glass inspection are used in multiple applications and markets. The typical tasks for GlassInspect and GlassMeasure include:

  • TCO/Molybdenum Coating inspection
  • Anti-reflective coating inspection for the PV industry
  • ITO coating inspection for display glass
  • Low-E coating inspection for the architectural and automotive industries

In sputtering or vaporisation processes the coating layers are deposited microscopically thin onto the glass substrates. To guarantee high electrical conductivity, the coating layers must be deposited without any defects, contaminations or unacceptable thickness variations.
